Free tier costs nothing but only allows a few looks per minute, so set "How often to look" to 5 s or slower. Google may use free-tier data to improve its products.
No key, no cost. The phone reads the subtitles itself and Google Translate translates them. Less accurate than the AI engines and no speaker tags. Tap a Danish word to see its translation.
Fastest and cheapest: the phone watches for new subtitles itself and only asks the AI when one appears. Works best with the phone held fairly still. "How often to look" is only used when Instant mode is off.
When the limit is reached the app pauses and asks before spending more.
The TV pauses when a line has finished, so you can read the English and Danish. While paused, the app ignores Netflix's pause screen.
1. Phone and TV on the same Wi-Fi.
2. On the TV: Settings → General (or Connection) → Network → Network Status → IP Settings. Type the IP address below.
3. Tap "Open TV security page", then Advanced → Proceed. It's a one-time step that lets this app talk to the TV. A blank page or error text after that is fine; come back here.
4. Tap Connect and choose Allow on the TV.
1. Phone and TV on the same Wi-Fi. On the TV turn on: Settings → General → Devices → External devices → "TV On With Mobile" / "LG Connect Apps".
2. Find the IP: Settings → Network → Wi-Fi (or Wired) → Advanced settings. Type it below.
3. Tap "Open TV security page", then Advanced → Proceed (one time). Come back here.
4. Tap Connect and press Accept on the TV.
Netflix on the TV skips 10 seconds per press, so "Back to this line" lands within 10 seconds of the line.
Phones can't send infrared from a web page, so a small Wi-Fi IR blaster next to the TV does it. It also listens, which is how the app scans your own remote.

1. Get a Wi-Fi IR blaster that comes with Tasmota installed, for example the Athom AR01 IR Controller (about 100–200 kr).
2. Plug it in near the box. On your phone, join its Wi-Fi hotspot "tasmota-…", and enter your home Wi-Fi name and password.
3. Open the blaster's page (its IP address, shown in your router) → Console, paste this command and press Enter:
4. Tap Scan remote and press each button the app asks for, with your remote pointed at the blaster.
5. Place the blaster so it can "see" the box, then tap Test pause.
The free relay is shared, but the channel name is random and private to you. Making a new one means pasting the new command into the blaster again.
These can't be controlled from a web page (they need a native app or a home hub). Samsung and LG TVs can.
